Where Are You Going?

November 16, 2015 by Camilla

Where Are You Going

“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.” ~Joel A. Barker

If I gave you a 100 million dollars what would you do with it and how would you want to spend your days?

What would you do after you’ve traveled, got a new car, bought some fun stuff? What would motivate you to get out of bed in the morning excited to take on the day?

Sadly too many people get out of bed because they have to as they haven’t taken the time to figure out what will make them WANT to get out of bed in the morning. They dream about a better day and a more meaningful life but dreaming doesn’t get you places. Taking action and working towards the dream does, but before all that can take place there has to be vision.

If I gave you permission to accomplish anything, to be anything, to do anything, what would that be?

How would your ideal life look like? And what kind of impact would you want to leave on the people around you? You don’t need to become world famous and reach millions of people in order to have impact. There are people in your local community whose lives you could change for the better.

Why You Need a Vision

Think of vision as your road map of where you want to go. You wouldn’t just get in the car and start driving around hoping that eventually you will end up at the “right” place.

“If you aim at nothing, you’ll hit it every time.” ~Zig Ziglar

Strangely, that’s what a lot of people are doing. They don’t even think of where they are going. Could you imagine if you got on a ship meant to take you from England to New York but the captain decided to let the ship drift wherever the wind and ocean current would take it?

Sure, you may end up exploring some amazing places, after all, that’s how Columbus discovered what we now call America, but he had a vision to discover what laid outside his immediate horizon and I think we can all agree on that he accomplished that.

What do you want to do with your one and precious life? I know it’s a BIG question, and as I’ve stated many times our passions and visions will mold, take shape and change as we move through life but what is your VISION of your most ideal life RIGHT now? That’s what you need to be working towards. And you can’t be afraid to dream BIG.

Go ahead and dream a little, create a vision board, connect with how it would feel like if you had your ideal life, smile and follow that feeling. It will lead you.

Feel free to share your BIG dream in the comments below. I dare you! 🙂

Want a Magic Wand?

July 23, 2015 by Camilla

Wish you had a magic wand that would do whatever you asked it to do?

A magic wand that would launch you into becoming magically rich. It would launch you into being a great parent and friend. It would launch the book you have in your head. It would launch whatever you dreamed about becoming. And it certainly would launch you away from your boring day job and into your dream life.

What if I told you that you have access to a magic wand? That there is a simple formula to get one. It goes like this:

Want a magic wand

How do you activate your personal magic wand? You make an appointment with it and you tell it what to do. If you want your magic wand to write a book for you what would you require it to do? Write the book, right? What would you tell the magic wand to do? To schedule time every day to write the book!

If you want your magic wand to make you rich, a better parent, or launch you into your dream life what would you tell it to do? To do the things that would get your there, right?

My magic wand didn’t start working until I had an appointment with it almost daily and until I was willing to turn off the TV, get up early in the morning, stay up late at night, be productive, say no to things, and it certainly didn’t turn magic until I had a plan in place.

If figured out the magic behind other people’s magic wand. It was called doing instead of wishing.

Why then is it so hard to create a magic wand?

Because it requires you to make some changes to your life.

As long as you are just dreaming everything is easy. In your mind everything flows and everything is perfect. As long as you stay dreaming you are in your safe zone. You can keep hiding behind all kind of excuses. It’s when you start doing it gets harder because you are now erasing the excuses one by one.

We are all equipped with a magic wand.

Take a good look at your hands. Move your fingers around. Then put them on your head. What if you took the dreaming you have going on inside that head of yours and transferred it to your ‘waiting to get activated’ magic wand that you have in your hand?

Your hands were built to hold a magic wand in your hand, not a stick.

Now the question is: Are you going to make it magic or are you going to keep holding a stick in your hand?

A Budget Allows You to Have Fun!

April 27, 2015 by Camilla

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when I say the word budget?

Restriction, holding you back, boring, no fun, buzz killer, difficult, waste of time, hard to do.

Unfortunately the word budget has become associated with negative words. After all, let’s be honest, it’s not exactly like people jump up and down in excitement when it comes to sitting down doing a budget. To some, a root canal may be more fun.

But what if I could show you a different way to think of the word budget? Let’s take a look at my definition of the word budget.

A Budget Allows You to...

What if we could think of budgeting as providing us freedom instead?

A budget is not a life sentence. The definition for the word budget is: “Estimate of income and expenditure for a set period of time.”

A budget is not there to take all the fun out of your life. Opposite, it’s there to add fun into your life.

When I learned how to budget I realized it was up to me what to include in the budget. I could allocate my money any way I wished. I didn’t have to create my budget based on what others suggested. It was up to me to decide what I was comfortable with.

A budget doesn’t have to follow some standard cookie cutter version. This is your life and therefore your budget. Even if you follow the steps in my book & Financial Freedom course I always suggest you implement what works for you and create your own version.

I don’t want you to stop eating out all the time or having fun. I don’t want you to stop enjoying life or going traveling. That’s not what budgeting is.

Budgeting is simply a way for you to decide where you want your money to go. And once you have a budget in place that you feel comfortable with you can go on autopilot. You have a plan and you don’t have to stress about it every single month. Wouldn’t it be nice to work a little hard now creating a budget so that you don’t have to worry about where your money is going all the time?

Let me explain the autopilot a bit better.

I’m working with this client right now that has $28,000 in credit card debt.

When I asked him how long it will take before he is debt-free he had no idea. I told him if he stopped using his cards, and only paid minimum payment, it would take 13 years. News like that can feel kind of devastating. Why even try to get out of debt?

He could have kept going along thinking getting out of debt was a hopeless thing, right?

Thankfully he has me. I ran the numbers and asked if he could find an extra 50 dollars a month. He said yes. I mean, 50 dollars isn’t that much money. But guess what? That extra 50 dollars a month will get him out of debt in 3 years using the snowball method. You create a plan and then you go on auto pilot.

I’m not asking him to stop living. I’m not asking this person to live on noodles. I’m asking him to find an extra 50 dollars a month somewhere in his budget. Could he get out of debt faster? Of course. But he has other monetary goals too and is fine with the time frame as it allows him to include fun, travel and balance in his life.

The key is – let’s not go so crazy with our money we stop living! Now, I know all of this may seem a bit overwhelming but I hope that every time you hear the word budget you think of it as providing you freedom instead of restricting you.

Are you ready to feel powerful and free by learning about budgeting and money? If so, join my Financial Freedom course. Or do you want to wake up 20 years from now wishing you had?

37 Days of Different Book

March 16, 2015 by Camilla

Ever wanted to write a book? A lot of people have a dream of publishing a book. I did too. I even sent off a collection of poems and short stories once to the copyright office with the intent to publish. That was long before self-publishing and you had to find a traditional book publisher. I had no idea how to go about it so after a while I got busy with life and forgot about it. I have boxes full of things I’ve written throughout the years.

Sounds familiar? How many of you have a book you started writing but never finished? How many of you have a book in your head you need to get down on paper?

It has become so easy to self-publish now you really have no excuse not to. If you really want to publish a book you can. You can have a book up on Amazon in minutes. Today you can even start selling it as a PDF book if you want! No excuses.

As a first time published author I have no excuse now not to continue. Maybe one day I’ll try the traditional route but for now I’m enjoying being my own publisher.

And, you guessed it! I wrote another book.

Introducing 37 Days of Different. A Guide to Break Out of Your Boring Routine and Start Changing Your Life.

It will release April 1, 2015 on Amazon. I also have the option for you to order it as a file for iBooks and Nook and in May it will launch as a paperback.

So what is this book about? The book will guide you through 37 days of doing things a little differently. After each day you will be asked how you felt and what you learned so that you can reflect, grow and open your horizon. When you do different you also start to think differently and see opportunities where before you saw obstacles.

37DaysofDifferent book

So how do you order this book? I had a website created specifically for the book: 37 Days of Different where you can learn more and order the book. For you that pre-order you will receive some fun bonuses.

When you self-publish you are your own marketer and PR firm so I would love if you helped me share this with the world. Social media today is a great way to get the word out. Thank you so much!

Are you ready to publish your own book? If not, what is holding you back?
