Have you ever wondered why you are doing what you are doing? Tonight is one of those nights. It’s Saturday night, I’m tired after a long day of working my seasonal job at a ski resort and the last thing I want to do right now is to write a blog post. I could go into my “almost finished” blog post folder, there are about fifty or so of them there. Some of them I’m never going to publish. Like the one with the title “Why I Wish I Hated My Job” or the “How 10 Years of Corporate Killed My Creativity.”
Both posts are great, well-written and I’m kind of bummed they will never see the day of light. Maybe I’ll find a way to tweak them and use them for something but with no corporate day job anymore none of those would be relevant.
See there lays the reason why instead of doing something else right now I’m sitting here writing. My primary goal is to grow my site so that I can inspire and help more people. My secondary goal is to add more resources, courses, books and products that can generate enough income for me to keep a roof over my head. I want this site to be a place where you can find a lot of free content but if you want to dive deeper into some topics I want to offer courses and more.
So although tonight I’m wondering why I’m working so hard on my dream I also know that I don’t have a choice. I could try to go read a book right now but my brain would not be able to focus. It would constantly remind me of my purpose. When you find something that won’t stop bugging you then know you have to do it.
I want to help all of you leave the rat race. Including myself. I might have a life that many wish they had but right now my life isn’t exactly where I want it to be. I’m working hard on achieving my goal of having a location independent lifestyle. Plus I want to generate enough income not only to keep a roof over my head but also so that I can spend more time working on other projects such as starting a non-profit and find ways to give back.
My hustle requires a lot of hours so this week when my book How To Get Out Of Debt Living Paycheck to Paycheck hit the #1 Bestseller in the Personal Budgeting and Business & Money categories it was a welcomed energy boost.
The best part with something like that is the exposure. The book has been bought by people in England, Germany, Spain, Canada, Brazil and Australia. We’re going international! Getting your finances under control is a huge step towards being able to leave the rat race.
Which is also why I created a special course for those that want that extra step of help. The Financial Freedom course is the closest you can get to having a financial coach. Besides all the course material it also includes a closed Facebook group for those that want more support.
Okay, enough plugging my own stuff.
What is something this week that you can do on your journey towards leaving the rat race?

I love 48 Days to the Work You Love. It was the first book I read of Dan Miller’s and it changed my life, together with No More Dreaded Mondays. I’m a huge fan of his and took his Coaching with Excellence last year as part of my coaching training. That book is not only for people that are looking for work, it is for anyone that wants to break out of what they are doing now and move to something better. I actually offered a 48 Days to the Work You Love course last year. I should offer that again. You’re going to love his book!

I totally get what you mean about a dream that won’t stop bugging you! That’s a good thing in my book;-)
Congrats on #1 – THAT’S HUGE! You (and your book) are accomplishing amazing things – even if it doesn’t always feel like it.

why ..yes I have wondered why I am still in the same job, why I allow myself to slow my hustle to a barely imperceptible tap dance…
