I recently started listening to Michael Hyatt’s podcast. If you haven’t listened to them or checked out his blog I highly recommend you do. Michael Hyatt has a lot of great information to share and writes about personal development, intentional leadership, productivity and much more.
So what brings me to write this blog post? Simple. The lyrics to a song that Michael Hyatt use as his theme song for his podcasts. I immediately recognized the song and remembered hearing it before but this time around the lyrics really popped out at me.
I found the following YouTube video that has the lyrics written on the screen. Crank up the volume because the song is really good and one that you will find yourself singing along to.
My favorite part of the lyrics are:
This is your life, are you where you want to be
This is your life, are you where you want to be
This is your life, is it everything you dreamed that it would be
When the world was younger and you had everything to lose
This is your life, are you who you want to be
This is your life, are you who you want to be
This is your life, is it everything you dreamed that it would be
When the world was younger and you had everything to lose
Why? Because if we ask ourselves this every single day it reminds us to work harder on not only being who we want to be but help us get to where we want to be. After all that’s the goal. Not to waste our life but pursue living it with purpose and in a way that is authentic to us.
I hope the lyrics inspire you as much as they inspire me.
Remember, this is your life and it’s happening right now. Are you working on living it or wasting it?

What an awesome message! After I was diagnosed with cancer, I started living my life as if each day was the last. Seven years cancer free and I can honestly say I am doing what I love.

I am so glad to hear you are cancer free and going. That’s fantastic! I can only imagine how something like that changes your outlook at life and teaches you to live more in the now. Thank you for sharing. A lesson for us all. We hear and see enough to remind us that life can change in an instant that we need to remember that every day and not waste our time.

Kristin it is truly breath taking dear. A struggle of seven years is never a small thing. We people will get depressed for small small things . Many of them are committing suicides in the most stupid way. You are a true inspiration. Seven years is truly a big number and it is quite essential to for many people to get inspired by you…….. :).

Thanks for introducing me to Michael Hyatt. Just glancing at the titles of his podcasts is inspiring. Another podcast I really love is “Work that Matters” by Shawn Murphy. We can never have too much advice on leadership, personal growth, and living it vs wasting it.
