Recently I listened to an interview with Robert D. Smith who talked about how many days he has lived and milestones he would set for certain number of days. It struck me that I have never thought of how many days I have lived, only years.
I immediately had to find out how many days I have been alive. There’s a great calculator on Robert D. Smith’s blog and you can find a few online as well. When you see your number it will blow your mind because the number is astounding. I have lived how many days?!
Thinking of your life in days instead of years changes everything. The say that our days are numbered truly gets a different meaning now. What is our number? And if we knew our number would that change how we live our lives?
I don’t know but the whole “I have lived this many days” fascinates me. Maybe it’s just me because I am a bit quirky but looking at how many days I have been alive and thinking of how many days that have slipped through my hands makes me not want to waste any more. It does make me treasure each day a little differently.
Looking at days instead of years adds that feeling of urgency that is so easy to lose when we feel as if we have all the time in the world. It helps with that Carpe Diem, Sieze the Day feeling. To take care of each day and also add some awesome milestones along the way.
Do you feel that looking at your life based on number of days instead of years would benefit you or not at all?
